Vitamin Sea
I love a seaside vacation and relaxing by the ocean water. Listening to the waves is very calming. Having my feet in the sand is very grounding. When I was going through my mold detox, even before I knew it was mold, I took a trip to the beach with my youngest son and my mother. I was feeling very tired, had shallow breathing and lots of brain fog. Within an hour, I felt like I could breathe again. My head was clear and I was so much better. I was feeling like myself again. Must be the ocean air!?
Unlike most accessible bodies of water, the ocean air is filled with salt minerals. Which is the idea behind a salt room or salt cave. These rooms are suggested they benefit your lungs and different elements that can affect your breathing. The salt ionizes the air making it negatively charged. So when breathing it in, it draws toxins, viruses, pollens and pollutants (which are positively charged, like two ends of a magnet) out of the body. Salt is naturally antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial so even it touching your skin helps! Have you ever had a dental problem and told to swish salt water in the mouth!? Same concept. Skin issues? Swim in the ocean.
Obviously if you have a severe health issue, salt isn’t gonna fix it. But if you’re looking for support during a difficult time, you may want to consider visiting an ocean or a local salt cave. Especially if you’re limited in mobility or lack energy. Taking the time to relax in a negatively charged space will ultimately bring positivity.
Healthy tip of the month:
Holidays are busy. Ask your older kids what their favorite traditions are so you’re doing the things they recognize as special. Don’t fall into the pattern of: “I’ve always done it this way” so you continue to run around like crazy. Prioritize. It may have been fun when they were little, but they’re growing. What makes it special for them?
And for those new moms, just because everyone else is doing it, doesn’t mean you have too. For example, I don’t have an “elf on the shelf”. I told my kids I didn’t want elves running around my house at night making messes. Are they disappointed? Only for a couple years of their life. Looking back, they understand why it wasn’t important. Don’t fall for “keeping up with the…” . Instead, think of the “why” behind the activity, and make your family traditions special for your family.
